Grades 5-6
Each year, the Calaveras County Office of Education holds The Annual Math Mini-Bowl competition. Approximately 190 fifth and sixth grade students from Calaveras County Schools compete in the event. The schools to participate are:
- Avery Middle School
- Christian Family Learning Center
- Hazel Fischer Elementary
- Jenny Lind Elementary
- Mark Twain Elementary
- Michelson Elementary
- Mokelumne Hill Elementary
- Mountain Oaks School
- Rail Road Flat Elementary
- San Andreas Elementary
- Valley Springs Elementary
The event consists of 3 categories – The BLITZ (a 45-minute individual competition with 50 questions); the HUDDLE (a pairs competition where students work alone for 25 minutes and then together for 15 minutes); and the BOMB (a five-member team event).
Awards will be awarded to the winners and all participants will receive a participation award.
