The Calaveras County Office of Education (CCOE) employs certificated and classified substitutes, workers who are on-call, without regular hours of employment, but who are hired to fill vacancies of absent employees when needed. CCOE maintains a roster for Substitute Teachers (certificated) which is provided to all Calaveras County schools, and a roster of Substitue Paraeducators (classified) which is provided to schools associated Calaveras County schools.
Working as a substitute employee is often a good way to make yourself and your work ethic known, and one of the best paths to securing regular employment. We require individuals not holding a teaching credential/or permit to take the SubSkills Online Training Course to earn a SubDiploma. You must pass with a score of 85% or higher. You'll learn what is expected and what you can do to prepare. To find out more about becoming a substitute employee, please visit the Employment section of this website.
