Calaveras Youth Council

The Calaveras County Youth Council is a countywide coalition of youth from all around Calaveras County. These students are innovative minds with creative ideas on how they want to make change in their community. Their leadership and desire to get their voices heard is the foundation of their values. They study the problems and concerns of youth in Calaveras County and conduct round table discussions with adult leaders to build relationships and identify the sources of these issues. Then they implement community programs and events. 
 
Mission Statement: 
Working together to take a stand in our community and provide a safe and fun environment for the youth of Calaveras County.

  • Rivalry Game Night
  • Movie Nights
  • Support event hosting guest speaker Kevin Hines
  • Fearless Rally with guest speaker Darryl Bellamy 
  • Round table discussions with the county chief probation officer, sheriff, director of Behavioral Health Services and both high school district superintendents
  • Meetings every other week August - May
  • Maintain a minimum 2.5 GPA
  • Collaboration with the other Friday Night Live programs
  • Development of leadership skills
  • Community service hours
