Calaveras County 2019 Teachers of the Year

Each year the Angels-Murphy Rotary recognizes one teacher from each of the districts within Calaveras County and one teacher from the Calaveras County Office of Education.

51st Annual Calaveras County Spelling Bee

The 51st Annual Calaveras County Spelling Bee showcased spelling competitors grades 6-9th on Thursday, April 11 at the Calaveras River Academy/Mountain Oaks gymnasium. The Teichert Foundation, the Calaveras Enterprise, and the Calaveras County Office of Education sponsored this event.

Christine Saul named April 2019 Mentor of the Month

The Calaveras Youth Mentoring Program is delighted to name Arnold resident Christine Saul as its April 2019 Mentor of the Month. Christine has been matched with her twelve-year-old mentee, Aeryn, for almost a year and a half.

2019 “Employees Making a Difference”

The Calaveras County Office of Education (CCOE) and the Association of California School Administrators (ACSA) honored outstanding classified school employees in Calaveras and Amador County. Honorees were selected through a nomination process and recognized on Thursday, March 14, 2019.

Local Students Showcase Their Scientific Aptitude

Students from all around the county recently participated in the 34th annual Calaveras County Science Fair. There were 60 students who participated in the event that took place at the Calaveras River Academy/Mountain Oaks gymnasium in San Andreas

Tim Smith named March 2019 Mentor of the Month

The Calaveras Youth Mentoring Program is honored to name Murphys resident Tim Smith as the March Mentor of the Month. “Tim is husband to Kathryn Eustis, founding director of the Mentoring Program. In many ways, Tim helped make the program what it is today,” said Katie Lackler, coordinator of the Calaveras Youth Mentoring Program.

Adult Education program receives prestigious accreditation

The Calaveras County Office of Education (CCOE) recently received a highly esteemed honor from the Western Association of Schools and Colleges (WASC). It was determined by WASC that the Calaveras County Adult Education Program, operated by CCOE, has met all of the necessary requirements to earn accreditation.
