Preschool Programs

Our Vision:

To provide a positive , developmentally appropriate environment that meets each student's individual needs, enables them to gain independence, practice emerging skills, and prepares them for Transitional Kindergarten (TK), as well as the greater community.

Our Programs:

The Calaveras County Office of Education (CCOE) offers a variety of learning experiences for preschoolers who have special education needs. Children who are 3 to 4 years old can receive instruction geared to meet their individual needs. Our programs focus on early intervention to help prepare your child for an appropriate Transitional Kindergarten (TK) program that meets your child's educational needs. Building our students skills and independence is our top priority.

Referrals:

Parents/Guardians, Childcare Centers, Physicians, Regional Centers, or community agencies may refer a child for a special education evaluation.

If concerns are only regarding the child's speech and/or language development, the child's district of residence should be contacted.

If concerns are regarding additional developmental areas, such as pre-academic skills, motor abilities, social and emotional skills, and/or adaptive/daily living skills, CCOE should be contacted directly. The CCOE Special Education Local Plan Area (SELPA) Program Manager will review the concerns with the parents/guardians. If it is determined that an assessment should be completed, the parents/guardians will be presented with an assessment plan that denotes the areas that will be assessed and the professionals who will be completing.
