The Technology Department at the Calaveras County Office of Education (CCOE) is committed to delivering secure, reliable, and forward-thinking technology services that empower educators, students, and staff across the county. Our team plays a vital role in supporting the digital infrastructure and instructional technology that drive 21st-century learning.
We are responsible for:
- Student Information Systems (SIS): Managing and maintaining SIS databases to ensure accurate, secure, and accessible student data for reporting, analysis, and instructional planning.
- Network Infrastructure & Internet Connectivity: Designing, maintaining, and optimizing high-speed internet access and robust network systems to support seamless communication and learning.
- Content Filtering & Email Security: Implementing advanced filtering systems to ensure safe and appropriate internet use, while protecting email communications from spam, phishing, and malware.
- Cybersecurity & Data Privacy: Enforcing rigorous cybersecurity protocols and ensuring compliance with state and federal regulations (e.g., FERPA, CIPA) to protect sensitive student and staff data.
- Direct District Support: Providing hands-on technical assistance and consulting to district technology departments, helping them troubleshoot issues, implement best practices, and plan for future needs.
- Digital Learning & Instructional Technology: Supporting the integration of digital tools and platforms—such as Google Workspace for Education and Microsoft 365—to enhance teaching and learning experiences.
- Technology Planning & Procurement: Collaborating with districts to develop long-range technology plans and manage the acquisition of hardware, software, and services.
- E-rate & CTF Program Coordination: Managing applications and compliance for the federal E-rate and California Teleconnect Fund programs, which provide discounted broadband and telecommunications services to schools.
