Dinner with a Scientist

Dinner with a Scientist gives 4th-12th grade students from Calaveras and Amador County schools a unique opportunity to enjoy dinner and an evening with local STEM (science, technology, engineering, and math) professionals in a casual learning environment. Scientists (ranging from geologists to veterinarians, biologists, educators, engineers, and more) volunteer their time to spend an evening sharing about their field of expertise. Teachers attend the event with a team of 2 to 5 students, where students can ask questions and scientists share their enthusiasm and advice about technology, engineering, math, and science careers. Students, teachers, and volunteer scientists all enjoy a meal while listening to a keynote speaker.

Dinner With a Scientist 2026 will be held on November 18, 2026,
at the Calaveras County Fairgrounds in the Mark Twain Hall.
